27,000 people a year seriously injured by hot pipes and radiators

According to RoSPA, over 80 people a day received injuries and over the year, 3,000 of these were at home.

Initiatives to reduce these serious injuries have included fitting low surface temperature radiators and covering hot pipes. As with many accidents the vulnerable are over represented amongst these serious injuries. The sad fact though is that so many are easily avoidable by simply covering hot pipes.
