PAT TESTING
EMERGENCY LIGHTING
Emergency lighting systems are installed to provide assistance in evacuating a building in the event of loss of supply to the general lighting circuits through fire for instance.
The Fire Precautions (workplace) Regulations 1997 state that “Emergency routes and exits requiring illumination must be provided with emergency lighting of adequate intensity in case lighting fails”.
It is the responsibility of all employers to ensure that these systems are suitably maintained and checked to ensure they are safe and compliant.
The Electricity at Work Regulations also place a legal responsibility on employers and self employed persons to take reasonable practical steps to ensure no danger results from the use of any electrical appliances.
During PAT Testing, All items with a plug are tested using top of the range, calibrated test equipment.
All items are labeled with an electrical safety pass sticker showing date of test and given an individual asset number.
A full test report, appliance register and compliance certification will be emailed in PDF format to you upon receipt of full payment, unless you require documents on a CD Rom. In the event of lost documents we keep files and test results for a period of 5 years incase your insurance company require evidence of historical testing practice.
