Also known as a Current Probe or a Current Clamp, a Clamp Meter is an electrical testing device clamps around an electrical conductor without the need to make physical contact, Clamps Meter is typically used to read the magnitude of alternating current (AC) and, with additional instrumentation, the phase and waveform can also be measured.
Leakage current can cause frequent tripping unnecessarily. In severe cases, the voltage will rise on accessible conductive parts. Higher levels of leakage current may be present in electronic devices when filters are used and can cause spikes in the voltage that disrupt the standards and cause equipment to give false readings.
