Application: Hair Removal & Thread Vein Removal
This course is designed to train candidates to provide expert ‘Laser and or IPL Treatments’ while meeting the highest standards. We enable our candidates to gain the confidence needed to perform these treatments to work professionally and legally within the public sector.
Week 1 – Full Salon Health & Safety. This skin laser training course teaches methods used to sterilise and sanitise tools and equipment. While here, you will learn about operating laser machine systems, characteristics of laser, wavelengths, energy density, and selective photothermolysis. This course also covers skin diseases and disorders, A&P relating to skin, hair and effects of hormones, the causes and definitions of hair growth and vein Anatomy and Physiology. You will cover establishing a safe environment, full laser consultation and information including medical contra-indications, pre- treatment considerations, client medical history. Drugs list for either not treating client or test patch with caution. Patient consent and agreement. Treatment protocols, patch testing, aftercare procedures, effectiveness of treatments. Conditions to be treated. Thread Vein Removal and Laser Hair Removal. Safe parameters of laser machines for effective treatments. Describing the physical sensation of the treatment to the client. Different types of hair growth. All relevant equipment, products and their use, how to prepare client for treatment. Protective laser goggles MUST be used by client and therapist for every laser treatment given. Full demonstrations to laser treatments, practice sessions for students to perform laser hair removal treatments (under strict supervision) on various areas and hair types. Client aftercare and homecare advice.
Week 2 – (Mini assessment on previous day) Week two of the laser treatment course will cover how to prepare client for treatment, hair types and colour which can be treated, length between sessions, aftercare treatment., recommended session guide, and the correct use of ‘Record Log Sheets’. All laser treatments are logged and dated to record any changes to medication, all areas treated, fluency of each treatment, patient skin type (According to the Fitzpatrick Classification for Sun-Reactive Skin Types), number of shots used and recorded per treatment, the reaction of each treatment and cost of each treatment. Thread vein removal procedure including all above considerations will be covered. While doing so, week two will ensure safe parameters of laser machines for effective treatments are followed. For instance, protective laser goggles MUST be used by client and therapist for every laser treatment given. This week goes over describing the physical sensation of the treatment to the client, practice sessions for students to perform laser thread vein removal treatments (under strict supervision) on various areas of the body, and client aftercare and homecare advice. Full demonstrations of performing laser thread vein removal treatments on face – cheeks, nose and chin. Legs – thigh to calf area, ankles and feet.
