Founded in 1976, A1 Hydraulics Ltd was formed as a family owned business serving the local community. Since then, we have grown to become the largest stockist and service centre for hydraulic equipment in the region.
Hydraulic Valves
We are stockists of high quality mobile and industrial hydraulic valves. These hydraulic valves include CETOP, Cartridge and Circuit types, with the choice of hydraulic, electric, manual and pneumatic operation.
Hydraulic valves are available for all circuits: overcentre, pressure, flow, sequence, dividers and combiners, diverters, priority, needle, ball, check, and many more.
Leading makes are available from stock, and many other makes are sourced from around the world.
Filters and Elements
We specialise in hydraulic filtration solutions to suit suction, return and pressure applications, and we offer a wide range of replacement cartridge and spin-on elements from stock.
There are many micron and media options, including paper, fibre and mesh. We also offer a sonic cleaning service for most mesh elements, and you can hire or buy our portable off-line oil kidney/flushing units from stock.
Cylinders, Rams and Actuators
For cylinders, rams and actuators, we offer the complete service.
We sell a variety of styles including ISO tie-rod and welded. We stock a standard range, and can normally offer short lead times on bespoke requirements.
We also offer a rapid repair service in our fully equipped workshop facility. We can re-rod, re-seal and re-machine most types of cylinder, and fully test all of our repairs before despatch.
Pumps and Motors
We offer a comprehensive range of pumps and motors including gear, vane and piston, with European and SAE specifications. We stock a variety of standard units and source many more from around the world.
We specialise in sourcing obsolete and obscure models and makes, or can often repair your old motor or pump to keep your machines running longer. All of our repairs are carried out on an urgent basis, and are fully tested for your peace of mind.
Flexible Hose and Fittings
We provide the most comprehensive and versatile service for flexible hose and fittings in the region. Whether you need loose hose, fittings or complete assemblies, we offer a huge range from stock.
For liquid or gas, pneumatic or hydraulic, we can offer a solution for you. We sell a full range of bore sizes in Rubber, PTFE, EPDM, PVC, Nylon, Poly-U, Silicone and various alloys.
To complete your pipework, we stock a huge range of end fittings in mild steel, stainless steel, brass and plastic materials, including BSP, BSPT, DIN, JIC, ORFS, NPT and SAE threads.
There’s also a free Hose Management Service on offer, so you can avoid those costly call-outs. And don’t forget our expert while-u-wait service which is open 5 ½ days a week.
Steel Tube
We specialise in the supply of steel tube and we are proud to be one of the largest stockists and distributors of hydraulic steel tube in the region.
We offer the full range of metric and imperial sizes from stock in mild and stainless steel. We also bend tube to your drawing or sample as a one off, or in batches to schedules. If you need a clamp or connector for your tube, no problem, just ask!
Service and Repair
With our comprehensive service and repair solutions, we have been helping customers with their hydraulic problems for over 35 years.
Whether you have broken the shaft on your pump, or need a major machine overhaul, our team of experts are on hand to advise and assist you. We have our own in-house repair facility and various specialist services available on site

For adaptors, couplings and connectors, we supply from a vast and diverse stock. We have one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of threaded adaptors, compression couplings, flanges and fittings etc.
We supply large volumes to schedules, special kits, or just one off’s, in mild steel, stainless steel, brass, plastic and alloys.

If you are in the area, and need a part or component quickly, why not pop in and visit our trade counter? You can collect the parts you need, we can manufacture hose assemblies, make up valves and bend tube in store, while you enjoy a free cuppa!
