Curtain Walling & Shopfront Systems

Low Rise Curtain Walling
This system is an economic and aesthetically pleasing solution to façade cladding. The system is suitable for use on all buildings where good thermal and weather performance is required, and is suitable for low rise applications up to 20m tall.
The system can accommodate 6mm, 6.4mm 8.8mm, 10mm, or 10.8mm single glass units or panels with the use of aluminium adaptors and gasket variations, and 24mm or 28mm double glass units or panels.

Shopfronts
The Shopfront system has profiles to suit both flush glazed and bead glazed applications, or a mix of the two. The standard dimensions are 100mm front to back and 45mm wide, with some sections having a width of 50mm or 100mm. The typical wall thickness of this system is 2.5mm.

Doors
The Doors system is suitable for fabricating many types of swing and sliding doors, and can be used in conjunction with both the Shopfront and Curtain Wall systems.
The standard dimension is 45mm front to back, with multiple sizes of rails and stiles. The typical wall thickness of this system is 2.5mm.

Windows
All of our window systems have a thermal break option. The thermally broken profiles meet current Document L requirements when glazed with argon gas filled K glass sealed units with warm edge spacer.

Glazing Bars
The Glazing Bar system has been designed for both the commercial and domestic markets, and conforms to BS5516 (British Standard Code of Practice for patent glazing). The system can be used with all popular fills including 6mm glass, multi-wall polycarbonate sheet, and double glazed units. The gaskets are designed to ensure the fills are sealed even when glazed at an angle.

AXIS Entrance Systems Ltd is independently owned with over 30 years' experience as a manufacturer in the automatic door industry, working in healthcare, education, government agency and commercial sectors. Our products, which are custom made to suit specific applications, include - Manual and Automatic Swing & Sliding Doors, Hermetically Sealed Doors, Steel Doors, Glazed Low Level Curtain Wall & Shop Fronts.

From a central UK base, Axis offers a complete fabrication, installation and maintenance service.

As part of continuing development and to meet customer requirements, Axis has sole UK distributorships for Doorson Automatic Door products, Manusa Healthcare Doors and Stanley Automatic & Healthcare Doors.

KNOW-HOW
Axis has extensive knowledge and experience in the automatic door industry, dealing with a wide range of clients in both the public and private sectors. Axis is an active member of ADSA – Automatic Door Suppliers Association. Detailed risk assessments to BS7036-0 and surveys ensure all installations conform to all EN16005:2012 safety standards. We have an array of accreditations and are always seeking to improve. We ensure that our staff are trained and given opportunities to develop and grow with us. All our technical and engineering staff are certified to EN16005, CSCS Health and Safety where appropriate and receive continual product training.

INNOVATION
Axis is the proud developer of the Flo-Motion® manual sliding door system, a multi award winning and innovative product designed specifically for BDP Architects and installed at the new Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool. To date Axis Flo-Motion® doors have won 4 important design awards including the 2016 European Healthcare Design Award for Innovation and Quality Improvement.

Northampton based Axis Automatic Entrance Systems has won the prestigious European Healthcare Design Award for Innovation for Quality Improvement. Their Flo-Motion manual sliding doors were developed, in conjunction with architects BDP, specifically for the new Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.
13/01/2017 - Axis Install Manusa Hermetically Sealed Doors
Hospitals are demanding environments for most suppliers, particularly when it comes to doors and the new Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool is certainly no exception. As well as the 200 plus manual sliding doors to each bedded room, Axis Automatic Entrance Systems Ltd also installed 11 Manusa Hermetically Sealed Automatic Doors in isolation areas on a number of the wards.
02/12/2016 - Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Axis Flo-Motion® Doors
At the new Alder Hey Children’s Health Park three quarters of patients will be in single rooms rather Nightingale wards. The importance of light and airiness was vital to the whole design concept and this meant the doors for each of the patient’s rooms had to be large for ease of access for beds and equipment, glazed for brightness and airiness, have privacy blinds for examinations or just occasional solitude, and finally they had to be easily opened and closed - by a child.
30/11/2016 - Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital Improve Access with Axis
The ongoing refurbishment programme at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital identified a set of emergency exit doors on the Holly Suite Cardiac Day Care Unit being regularly used as a delivery point for supplies and exit for waste materials. The doors were not automated which made it difficult to move trolleys through the doorway and left them prone to damage, both cosmetic and functional.
