i ordered a Barton small parts storage cabinet through Toolstation. The item was expensive (£131) compared to similar offerings on the market, but appeared to be good quality. The order time was quoted as 5 to 7 working days. After 7 working days, I rang Toolstation and asked for an update. I was told that it would be delivered the following Monday (9 working days). On Monday, I received an e-mail advising me that the cabinet was out of stock and asking if I would like to order something else. I rang Bartons and was told that a stock error showed that the item was in stock, when it was not. I replied that it would have been courteous to contact me when Barton had received the order and checked the stock situation, and not left it until 2 working days after it was due to be delivered before contacting me. In total, it was almost 2 weeks after i ordered and paid for the item before I received notification of unavailability. It was a further 5 days before the money was refunded to me. In all, not a good experience, although the lady i spoke to at Bartons was polite and apologetic. Subsequently, I obtained a similar item through Amazon for £33, which arrived within 3 days.
