DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY - This review is similar to the other bad reviews that you will read on-line about David and his company Cadmonkies. Firstly, you must understand that David is not an architect, as all architects in the UK must be registered with the Architects Registration Board (ARB) and David is not registered. The following ARB website clearly shows that he is not registered and is therefore not an architect: https://arb.org.uk/public-information/before-hiring-an-architect/architects-register/ The fact that he is not an architect will have certain implications which I will get into further in the review below. David agreed to do plans for our extension and act as our agent in dealing with the local council. After agreeing to use him as our agent, he rarely responded to our emails and calls, and was very late in completing the plans for the extension. After the plans were finally submitted, the council made multiple requests for additional information directly from David to consider the application. David repeatedly ignored these requests, resulting in the council closing the application. This means we will have to pay again if we want to re-apply. We will have to bear this cost through no fault of our own. In addition, we have wasted time and money trying to get David to do the plans which are now useless.Following the closure of our application by the council, David initially agreed to refund us, but he has not fulfilled this promise and has gone back on his word.My experience with David has been very frustrating. We considered making a complaint to the ARB however as David is not a genuine architect and not registered with them, we do not have that option. Note, if you use David, you will not be afforded much of the protection provided by the ARB. We are currently exploring our legal options with the hope of reducing the losses we incurred with David. Don’t fall into the same trap that we did!
I wish I had read these reviews first.David was initially great, but then kept promising the plans and never delivered, continually saying he was very busy, apologising and then saying the plans would be ready the next day. They never were. David would not answer phone calls, and left us waiting. I dread to think how long it would have taken him had we left him unchecked.We ended up giving him a deadline 3 weeks after he had originally promised the plans and never heard anything.Very poor unprofessional service. Why not just tell us he was too busy rather than just stringing us along?Do not use this service if you expect a quick job! A complete time-waster.
We feel Cadmonkies lacks integrity. Once the plans were drawn up it took Cadmonkies 3.5 months to submit the planning application despite saying it would be done once paid. We asked about the progress of the application on 2 separate occasions, and was told Cadmonkies would chase this up with the Planning Department, which is odd as it had NOT EVEN been submitted at this stage. When Cadmonkies was confronted on the delay the response was to withdraw the application. This has been a very unpleasant experience for our family, and we feel cheated. Time to start again with a 6 month delay - NOT a happy customer!
Absolutely disgusted with themLots of talk of support at the beginning. How they will be there throughout the build to work very closely with the builder This is absolute rubbishHe submitted the plans eventually. Changed them without discussion until after they were granted Then just not interested Short blunt emails Excuses. Never followed through with sending me builders info etc as promised despite email reminders No support Just didn't careI have been completely ripped Basically they took my money and are laughing at me Not much I can do now except warn others to avoid him at all cost
