All our hardwoods are sourced from managed forests and FSC-certified suppliers and finished by hand with two coats of oil to produce a smooth, soft sheen finish, that enhances the beauty of the wood. The non-toxic oil used, is water & heat resistant and the same as used on many children's wooden toys. Unlike many 'cheaper' softwood alternatives using dyes and varnishes, Cotswold Thresholds can be re-finished to restore them to an 'as-new' condition.
