Number plate production is a technical process, and many factors must be considered when producing plates for use, particularly in the UK. Here, all plates for road use must be produced to meet both the DVLA standard, INF104 and the latest standard BS AU145e.

The Republic of Ireland follows different laws from the UK these are laid out in the statute files under S.I. No. 287/1990 – Road Vehicles (Registration and Licencing) (Amendment) Regulations, 1990. (Needs a link to the Statute at .gov.ie). Our Jig systems are designed to lay out Irish plates according to the statute.
