Buying direct from David Bailey Furniture Systems meant we could get great quality furniture at a good price. The units installed were practical and really brightened up our consulting rooms. The installation went without a hitch and our clients like our new look – we’ve had several compliments!
A bespoke nurses’ station was designed for the Peter Long Unit and installed in May 2013. The design of the nurses’ station allows good use of a wide corridor enabling staff to work in a semi-private environment on notes etc. whilst still keeping an eye on people coming in to and out of the Unit. Raised parts on the desk allow for the screening of computer terminals, while a lowered part allows wheelchair users and nurses to have conversations at eye level. “Having now used the desk for a couple of months the following observations have been made: 1. The computer screens can now be angled to prevent wheelchair users seeing what is on the screen when talking to staff. As such the medical-in-confidence element of our work is now assured. 2. The nurses’ station is well liked; it is easy to keep clean with wipes; and a gap in the back of the desk makes it possible for a wheelchair to fit under it, which makes a real difference for staff and patient communication. As the desk is fixed to the floor there is no problem with movement when fast moving patients knock into the desk and its rounded edges help prevent injuries. “All-round the desk is modern, professional and a hit with everyone using it.”

It is important that our students have opportunities to explore their creative side in school, perhaps discovering a rare talent in the process. David Bailey was chosen to provide specific items of fitted hospital furniture for our contract at the main British military base in Afghanistan as they offered the best combination of quality and price. The nurses’ station was provided well packaged and was sent by air to Afghanistan. The material was temporarily stored on site in an air-conditioned ISO container to prevent delamination or spoiling. The team of carpenters on site found the station very easy to assemble and to fit ancillary equipment such as task lighting and power outlets. The client was most pleased that G3 Systems had chosen a proprietary product from a respected supplier, rather than opting for a local fabrication. The service provided by David Bailey was excellent.
It was excellent working with David Bailey Furniture Systems again, this time on Highfield School in Eastbourne.
