About us

JL Phillips Renewable Energy Ltd is an MCS-accredited expert in the design, installation, and maintenance of biomass boilers, ground source heat pumps, and air source heat pumps for commercial and residential properties throughout the UK.

The company was founded by Jason Phillips in 2009 after he identified the need for a more commercial and professional approach in the emerging renewable heating market, which was previously a cottage industry.

Over the last 14 years, the company has expanded alongside the industry to become one of the country's largest installers and specifiers of renewable heating projects. They have completed over 1,000 installations, primarily in the East Midlands, with recent growth extending across the rest of the UK.

Our Product Include:

Air Source Heat Pumps

A well-designed and installed heat pump system offers significant benefits to homeowners, particularly in reducing carbon emissions. Air source heat pumps, which have been successfully used since the early 1970s, are a proven technology. They utilise ambient air to deliver cost-effective heating and hot water, benefiting from low installation costs and minimal space requirements due to the abundance of air as a heat source. Given the UK's relatively mild winter temperatures, these systems can achieve excellent efficiency and performance year-round.

Ground Source Heat Pumps
Although domestic ground source heat pumps may seem complex, they are actually straightforward systems that have gained attention for their eco-friendly energy production. The UK government supports this green technology with financial incentives for carbon-neutral energy generation. These pumps work by capturing solar energy stored in the ground through a network of underground pipes, converting it into usable heat for underfloor heating, radiators, and hot water. This makes them an ideal green energy solution for your home.

Underfloor Heating
Underfloor heating uses durable, flexible tubing embedded in the floor to efficiently and affordably heat a home, offering several advantages over radiators. Various systems are available, and the best option for you will depend on factors such as your project type, existing heating system, and energy source.

Biomass Boilers
Biomass boilers are a great solution for environmentally conscious homeowners because wood is a renewable, carbon-neutral source of energy. With the help of the Renewable Heat Incentive and long-term savings, getting a biomass boiler is both an eco- and wallet-friendly choice. However, these systems are much larger than your average boiler, and your home might need some adjustments to accommodate them. Here’s all you need to know about the installation of biomass boilers, and what you should do beforehand. If you’re interested in receiving quotes on boilers, we offer you that service in a quick, simple, free of charge way. By filling in the form on the right you’ll receive up to four different quotes from our boiler suppliers without obligations.

Solar PV
Solar electric (PV) systems convert sunlight into electricity using PV cells within solar panels. These cells generate direct current (DC) electricity, which is then converted to alternating current (AC) by an inverter for use with the national grid. Even on cloudy days, some electricity is produced. In domestic setups, the inverter is typically installed in the loft, while in larger commercial systems, it's housed in a plant room. The system's output is monitored by a total generation meter. As MCS, NICEIC, and RECC certified installers, we ensure your Solar PV or battery storage project is in expert hands.

With over a decade of experience in renewable energy and extensive expertise in heating and plumbing, the JLP team can design, install, and maintain customised heating systems tailored to each customer's needs.

We base our installations on high-quality equipment, drawing from our experience and the expertise of our manufacturing partners to provide the best solutions for every project.

Our industry knowledge and experience provide customers with exceptional product and design information. Our dedicated installation team, who have been with the company from the start, ensures a professional service from the initial consultation through to installation and after-sales support.

JL Phillips Renewable Energy Ltd

We had both an air source heat pump, photo voltaic cells and battery storage fitted by JL Phillips and we are very happy with the product, fitting and maintenance by this firm. Our first buy was the the heat pump. We originally had oil fired central heating and wanted to be more environmentally friendly. We were kept up to date as to when our installation would commence ( they were very busy) and everything commenced on the date given. The technicians were courteous and prompt.Later in the year we had PV cells fitted and a battery too. Again good service, the electricians were friendly and they cleared up after themselves !We are very happy and would recommend this firm
