Carl Jarvis established Newmarket Plant Hire Ltd in 1987, supplying mechanical plant and equipment to the Construction and Civil Engineering Industry. In 1998 a sales shop was formed within the Newmarket Depot to service the requirements of local builders and DIY enthusiasts with small tool sales and consumable items.
1999 saw the expansion of Newmarket Plant Hire into Cambridge, and by the year 2000 negotiations were completed for the purchase of Sarbir Plant Hire Ltd, ensuring Newmarket Plant Hire depots were now based in Newmarket, Cambridge, Harlow and King’s Lynn. In 2005, the “Plant & Tools” division of Rawley Plant Hire in Basildon was acquired adding a further depot to the Newmarket Plant Hire group.
To complete full coverage of East Anglia, in 2006 a new depot was established in Ipswich that now boasts a large customer base within Suffolk and the surrounding counties. All six depots now have their own sales shops to service local customers, and are constantly expanding the comprehensive range of equipment on offer, and continue to be market leaders in bringing new products into the fleet.
Newmarket Plant Hire’s commitment to continued business investment was demonstrated in 2014, with the build of a brand new Hire showroom and workshops for their King’s Lynn depot.
In 2015, Newmarket Plant Hire Ltd rebranded the business to The NPH Group. Along with a fresh new look, The NPH Group also expanded their original depot in Newmarket with the adjoining site, to incorporate a large new yard and new head office business space to accommodate the expanding requirements of their local customers.
NPH are proud of their ethos of putting the customer at the forefront of everything they do, and will continue to run the business on traditional values whilst constantly looking for opportunities to improve the service offered to customers both large and small.
