About us

ToolChimp, originally known as MAP UK, started in 2004 when the owner, John (with over 30 years’ experience within the tool industry), discovered that there was a vast range of products that should be available to the market, but weren’t. Most people, John included, were only aware of the products and brands that the wholesalers wanted to promote …

And so, it became his mission to create a group of websites dedicated to different, but very specific, ranges of products – his aim was to offer the consumer a bigger and better selection of products from these ranges to choose from. The first of these websites to be created was FIXINGGUNS.CO.UK, this initially included the complete range of Tacwise tools and accessories, and proved to be extremely successful from day one. From its success, a further nine dedicated manufacturer websites were created:

This wasn’t quite enough for John. In 2019, it was then decided that a brand new website would be created that encompassed a vast selection of manufacturer ranges – and, boasting over 30,000 product lines from respected manufacturers across the world, ToolChimp was officially born … and John’s aim to offer a ‘bigger and better selection of products’ (while still continuously expanding) was achieved.
