About us

Established by Ralph Scott in 1972, the company will next year be celebrating 40 years of trading. When Mr Scott decided to retire in 2009 the current owners, Julie Norcliffe Jim Walker & Colin Ratcliffe, participated in a management buyout of the company. The proprietors have 75 years of combined experience within the industry through their long association with VSM.
VSM is ideally located in Bacup, Lancashire for close access to the motorway network initially via the M66. This route then links with the M65 or M62, leading to the M6 or M1. Our 18,000 sq ft production facility is fitted out with well maintained machinery & also provides ample storage space which our clients’ often use whilst their project is being completed.
A speedy quotation service is offered & we are happy to accept enquiries in any format that the customer may wish to submit.
We fully recognise the necessity & importance of often having to react to clients’ instructions on very short lead times & are usually able to commence manufacture on projects of up to £100k at less than one weeks notice. Small jobs & extras can usually be turned around on a same day basis, materials permitting.
