Fire Signage

The Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996 came into force on April 1 1996, and relate to the use of fire safety signage in the workplace.

The regulations apply to all places and activities where people are employed and require employers to provide specific safety signage whenever there is a risk that has not been avoided or controlled by other means.

The fire safety signage Regulations state that:
• Employers must use safety signs wherever there is a risk to health and safety which cannot be controlled by other means
• Safety signs must be of a specified type
• All signs must contain a pictogram; text only signs are no longer acceptable
• Signs must be properly maintained and adequately lit
• Employers must ensure that signs are understood by employees

Fire Training

Knowledge is power, and knowing what to do in the event of a fire may save lives. That is why we offer Fire Safety Training courses. The objective of these courses is to give attendees all round knowledge of what to do upon discovering a fire.

We cover vital subjects like: what immediate action to take when you've discovered a fire; how to raise the alarm in an emergency; what to do when you hear a fire alarm; who is responsible for calling the emergency services; locating and using extinguishers and escape routes; and dealing with disabled persons and evacuation procedures.

We also provide specialist training to highlight particular fire risks and methods of fire prevention.

Fire Extinguishers

Usually the first line of defence, you really want your fire extinguishers to be in top working order should you have to use them. Maintenance is obviously the best way of keeping them in good condition. And it is also a legal requirement.

We pride ourselves on offering a quality service to each customer, so we therefore do not ask our customers to sign binding contracts. We only require you to sign a service agreement confirming the 1st service and the agreed rates going forward. Fire Risk Assessments

As you may already know, since October 1st 2006 all businesses in the UK must have a valid Fire Risk Assessment that complies with the Fire Safety Order. Step One

Contact us and we will arrange for a trained and qualified Fire Safety Professional to visit your site and discuss your fire strategy with you. They will then carry out a Fire Risk Assessment of your premises.

Step Two

The report will then be compiled. The same consultant will revisit you and discuss the findings of the report and any contraventions that need addressing. They will then offer workable and cost effective solutions that will help you comply with the relevant regulations and standards.
