Aggreko Helps St Patrick’s Festival Rock to Success
10 July 2008
Aggreko, the world leaders in the rental of power, temperature control and oil-free compressed air systems, provided the power to ensure this year’s St Patrick’s Festival in Dublin was a roaring success.
The festival, which was held around St Patrick’s Day in March, was jam packed with music shows, funfairs and theatre performances, requiring more than 2MW of temporary power. As Foundation Partners, Aggreko provided the equipment free-of-charge to support the event. The climax was the St Patrick's Festival National Lottery Skyfest featuring a fireworks and projection show at the Rock of Cashel, one of Ireland's most spectacular archaeological sites.Aggreko provided 26 generators located around Dublin, along with distribution panels and cabling including those sited at Dublin castle to power the broadcast facilities, PA system, equipment in the marquees, the flood lights around the castle and temporary car parks.
To help ensure that the festival ran smoothly, Aggreko worked with the events committee in the six month run up to the event, as Mark Reilly, a sales engineer from Aggreko explains: “We were called in to help in the planning process to offer guidance on the temporary power equipment that would be needed. We specified generators ranging from 60kVA to 300kVA to ensure there was adequate power to cover all the individual events.
