New CO2 measurement transmitters from Rotronic
23 July 2014
We would like to advise you that Rotronic, one of the world's leading manufacturers of measuring equipment for temperature and humidity, has expanded its product range with the introduction of carbon dioxide measurement transmitters. These enable indoor air quality to be improved and energy efficiency increased thereby reducing energy costs. They also improve climate control in manufacturing processes, storage areas, climatic chambers, plant growing rooms, vehicle depots and tunnels.
CO2 is a colourless and odourless gas that can be detected and the concentration measured using purpose designed sensors. A high concentration of CO2 can be dangerous to both people and animals, and even life threatening. The new transmitters from Rotronic accurately monitor environments before they pose a safety risk. They enable the operation of connected equipment to increase ventilation in order to reduce CO2 levels, thereby eliminating risk and improving air quality. The wide range of CO2 measurement transmitters available from Rotronic provides customers with the appropriate product for their application. They improve air quality by controlling the ventilation in offices, classrooms, cinemas, hospitals and other buildings. They are also installed to control CO2 in manufacturing processes, pharmaceutical incubators, climatic chambers, plant growing rooms & greenhouses and for reducing CO2 pollution in underground garages, tunnels and vehicle depots.
The sensor technology used to measure carbon dioxide is based on the NDIR (Non Dispersive Infrared) principle. The sensors are supplied calibrated and will perform for many years without maintenance. The measuring range is 0…40,000 ppm (0…4 %vol.), the operating range is 0…50 °C / 0…95 %rh. Relays and alarms are integrated.
