Water Safety Signs: Making sure your water experience is safe!
10 October 2014
I was revealed by ROSPA that 381 deaths in the UK are caused by drowning or other water related activities. Here at Label Source we work towards increasing the awareness and safety of people in and around the water. We provide a range of signs for swimming pools, lakes, rivers, reservoirs, and oceans, informing the public of possible risks and danger.
Within the last year statistics show that around half of all drowning accidents occurred in natural water settings such as lakes, rivers, or oceans. This consists of a range of water sport activities including snorkelling, wind surfing, diving, sailing, surfboarding and water skiing. There are other water related accidents such as slipping, sliding and falling on wet floor surfaces, ranging from minor injuries (cuts and bruises) to more major injuries (breaking bones and concussion).
Factors that most influence water accidents:
- Lack of swimming ability
- Lack of barriers
- Lack of close supervision
- Location
- Failure to wear a life jacket
- Alcohol use- involved in up to 70% of deaths linked with water recreation. 1in5 are reported as boating deaths.
Label Source wants to provide you with the best labels and signs, to avoid any accidents from occurring. We provide a range of safety signs such as, caution signs, (where there is a wet surface), depth of water, strong currents, no swimming, no diving and a range of prohibited water activities signs.
Take a look at our range of safety signs on our website.
