So, in the old days the way to half the unit cost used to be to double the size of your production tooling. But the latest investments by Butser Rubber Ltd has shown otherwise.
Not bettering tooling… Better Process!
Investment in the latest Injection moulding machines from Germany which are designed to inject rubber at 50% higher temperatures then traditional injection rubber moulding machines.
This shortens the moulding cycle time and so saves manufacturing time!
This saved time filters down to customers who can experience better value rubber mouldings without the need to invest in larger tooling. As a result, in many cases it has been found that customers have continued to use the prototype tooling to run larger production runs!
This is a huge capital saving! As are result, Butser Rubber are winning jobs from India which not only have better quality and faster lead times, but also not as expensive as people think!
