Sixways Stadium

Precolor were approached to manufacture the water storage tank, required to irrigate the new training pitches at the Sixways Stadium, the home of Worcester Warriors RFU.
To irrigate the training pitches, they potentially needed 210,000 litres per week, per pitch, to feed the new sprinkler system for each of the new pitches.Rather than pull this quantity of water on demand, directly from the mains. The management decided they wanted to keep a volume of water available in case their supply could not meet the demand at peak times.
As space was also limited they wanted to bury the storage tank below ground, but still ensure it was strong enough to take agricultural traffic.
Using our experience of manufacturing the largest range of one piece tanks in the UK, we knew we would be able to find a suitable solution to help keep the new pitches in a tip top condition.
We offered a large 60,000 litre, WRAS approved, one piece, underground, break tank. The internal dimensions of the 60,000 litre tank we supplied were 8500x3000x2000mm (l/w/h).
The tank was constructed entirely of GRP with all external supports encapsulated in the final laminate. We incorporated marine plywood in the base and lid and added further strengthening ribs to the heavy duty lid ensuring it was strong enough to cope with the loads it would be carrying.
Once the tank had been lowered into the ground the hole was backfilled with concrete to offer extra support.
We enjoy helping our customers to solve their problems. If you have a problem storing the water or chemicals that you need to use, give our vastly knowledgeable sales team a call and discuss it with them. We will find the correct solution for you.
