Emergency First Responder Course
06 February 2017
As a salon owner you are a professional in the world of beauty, but do you know what to do in the case of a medical emergency in your salon? If the answer to that is no, then you and your staff need to take part in an Emergency First Responder Course.
An Emergency First Responder Course is not a First Aid At Work qualification, and for the most part all that is needed is a course which gives you the skills to be the “Appointed Person”. This course is designed to give you more confidence in how to act whilst waiting for the emergency services. No matter how well prepared you are, things can always happen that we have not accounted for. This could be an allergic reaction, an asthma attack or even a cardiac arrest. As part of being a responsible salon owner, it is important that you ensure there is always someone on duty who can act quickly and effectively if an emergency occurs. That first response to an emergency can make a crucial difference.
This Emergency First Responder Course is run by Lynne Baker of Calla Distribution. Lynne is not only a salon owner but also a former nurse, so she knows all too well how important emergency treatment can be in those first few minutes. She is offering salons a one day course which includes a certificate and reference material for you to take away. She can bring the course to you, or you can visit her dedicated training space. The course can be run on a one-to-one basis or with a maximum of 12 people, so there is a solution for every type of salon.
This course is not just relevant to the beauty industry, once you have been trained you will be able to respond to an emergency wherever it happens, whether your children are choking or someone is injured in the street. The course will give you the knowledge, understanding and confidence to deal with whatever you are presented with.
This vital qualification is something that your staff and clients can all benefit from, with everyone knowing they are in safe hands and that your salon offers the highest possible levels of care.
To find out more about the course, or to book one for your staff, call Lynne today on 01635 749749.
