New 12-Sided £1 Coin
23 March 2017
You may be aware The Royal Mint have started to produce the new 12-sided £1 coin for March release, the current pound coin will be still in circulation until October 2017.
The round £1 will be legal tender alongside the new, more-secure coin until 15 October. The public are being urged to use their current £1 coins or bank them before they lose their legal tender status.
The government estimates around a third of the £1.3 billion worth of coins stored in piggy banks or saving jars around the UK are the current £1 style.
Supermarkets are making the changes to accommodate the new coin and tokens for their trolleys, the existing pound and tokens will still release the trolleys, as the new size is slightly larger.
Over the last decade many thousands of our valued customers have purchased the hugely popular, personalised trolley token key ring for shopping trolleys and Gym lockers as promotional tool, now the new shape is available to purchase.
Simply detach your token from your key ring, insert your reusable trolley token in your trolley/locker and after use just pop back on your key ring ready for your next time.
The reusable token that is attached to the key ring is a coin substitute milled to exact size,
Supermarket approved. Ideal for when you don’t have a pound coin for your shopping trolley.
If you would like a new quote on the new shape or indeed would like a sample please do not hesitate to ask.
