Manufacturing sustainable products which are maintenance-efficient and have high play value at the core of the design process is important to us here at Wicksteed Playgrounds.
For example, the recent investment of an increased paint plant has given Wicksteed the capabilities to manufacture all their multi-play towers as one-piece, solid welded structures.Not only does this boost efficiency of maintenance, but it also renders installation time that much quicker. The structures, which are modular, allow the customer to create specific units tailored to the needs of their individual play areas. Following a £200k investment in a new CNC panelling machine, HDPE panels can now be designed to bespoke themes or images associated with the purchasing group.
Additionally, this ‘fit and forget’ approach to maintenance is supported by our thermal zinc spraying preparation prior to powder coating, which gives a 7-year paint guarantee”
