A Meticulous approach to Maintaining peoples safety.
17 July 2018
Urging neighbouring mental healthcare providers to communicate with each other. Encouraging and supporting the awareness of regulations and standards governing such technology. and... Ensuring that staff, using staff attack and nurse call alarms, are well trained to maximise their own and their patients’ safety, are three of the key priorities for Guardian Staff Safety Systems – a leading manufacturer of such products. John Ridpath spoke to The Network’s Jonathan Baillie.
Many trusts and societies such as The Design in Mental Health Network and its members can, we at Guardian believe, play a considerable part in this process of education and knowledge sharing, which ultimately benefits all those responsible for providing a safe, secure, therapeutic, and appropriate environment for care.Guardian Staff Safety Systems says that while its products are extensively used by NHS Trusts and private healthcare providers in the acute and, particularly, the mental healthcare sectors, its staff safety equipment and wide range of call systems have also been the ‘the preferred choice of several Government departments’, and has even been sole specified by ‘Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service’ for more than 16 years.
However, the need for staff safety is increasing more and more, so while we now see an increase in the use of our systems within our traditional sites, Guardian has also seen a wider increase in the range of organisations specifying its equipment – from high street banks, airports, retail outlets, courtrooms, job centres, schools, and council offices, to even the ‘the nation’s favourite coffee shop’, Costa Coffee.
How has this been achieved? The answer is simple – we listen to our customers. Our development program is driven by a combination of continuing advances in technology and our customer’s needs. Many of the features which a Guardian system provides were incorporated in response to comments and requests from clients who were looking for solutions to combat particular issuesalong with every day standard neeeds such as: LONGEVITY. ABLE TO OFFER OPEN PROTOCOL. TRACKING ABILITY. COMPLIANCE WITH REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS SUCH AS HBN AND HTM AND MANY MORE.
