JCB GROUNDCARE TO LAUNCH ITS LARGEST COMPACT TRACTOR AT SALTEX
23 July 2007
IOG SALTEX 2007 will see the wraps come off the latest addition to JCB Groundcare’s class- leading compact tractor range.
The new JCB 360 is a 59 horsepower model featuring power shuttle transmission and becomes the largest in a range of six robust compact tractors – which span from 23 to 59 horsepower. The flagship products in JCB Groundcare’s tailor-made range of specialist equipment for the grounds maintenance sector - they are ideal for use by grounds maintenance contractors, landscapers and green-keepers around golf courses, parks, sports and amenity grounds, smallholdings and equestrian centres. They power numerous attachments enabling operators to perform many grounds maintenance tasks in addition to their primary role of grass cutting. These include: ditching, loading, hedge-cutting, topping, aeration, flailing, overseeding and harrowing.
JCB Groundcare will also hand a Saltex debut to its brand new HTD5 Dumpster. The HTD5 is a High Tip walk behind tracked dumpster with a 500Kg payload, 0.3cu m skip and unrivalled tip height of 1450mm.
The compact dimensions of the HTD5 mean it can be driven through standard width doorway enabling access to the rear of properties and other previously restricted areas. The length of the undercarriage is longer than on most competitive models giving the HTD5 improved longitudinal stability. The new dumpster is particularly effective when working in tandem with a micro excavator such as the new JCB 8008 model. The HTD5 can follow the Micro on confined sites or difficult terrain and can be loaded directly by the excavator to remove the spoil from site.
Also on show for the first time to grounds maintenance professionals is the Midi CX - a brand new compact backhoe loader which effectively does the job of three machines. Aimed at plant and tool hire companies, local authorities, landscaping contractors, general building contractors and estate managers, the Midi CX can carry out roles traditionally associated with mini excavators, compact loaders and compact tractors.
In addition to conventional backhoe applications, it features an easily detachable excavator section. Also offered is a three point linkage and Power Take-Off, which allows the use of a vast range of rear mounted attachments - enabling the Midi CX to perform as an industrial compact tractor. It is compatible with the extensive list of attachments from JCB’s 2CX and Robot skid steer models. Options include: mowers, flails, box scrapers, breakers, hedge trimmers, buckets, augers and pallet forks.
JCB’s 6x4 Groundhog utility vehicle - ideal for transporting people across rough and delicate ground - boasts a series of new features and options to further improve versatility, performance and operator comfort.
The machine is proving extremely popular in a wide range of markets including: country estates, agriculture, specialist hire companies, sports venues, utility companies, quarries, golf courses and grounds maintenance contractors. The machine delivers class-leading performance with a max travel speed of 18 mph (29 km/h), max payload of 500kg and a towing capacity of 500kg.
JCB Groundcare is also making a big impact with its smallest-ever micro excavator - ideal for working on confined garden and landscaping projects. Despite its low weight, the JCB 8008 has an impressive digging envelope and market leading performance. The 8008 uses a 762cc diesel engine, offering a power rating of 12.7hp (9.5kW) – an output which makes the JCB 8008 the most powerful machine in the 800kg sector and has a best-in-class hydraulic pump flow of 13.2 litres/min.
As with the micro, the JCB 8008 has a variable width undercarriage, allowing it to travel through a standard doorway.
Aimed at the commercial market and estates, JCB’s first Zero Turn Mower – the ZT20D – has the benefit of being powered by an 18hp diesel engine, therefore giving multi-fleet customers the ability to use a single and safer fuel. The ZT20D excels in areas where space is confined and manoeuvrability is all important – such as land broken up by trees or benches. Its zero turn capability ensures it can cut right up to and around objects with minimal speed reduction. The JCB mower is extremely fast – travelling at 13mph - making it the most productive type of grass cutting machinery – proven to be up to 50 percent faster than alternative equipment.
The JCB Mini CX 4x4 is a four-wheel drive variant of its smallest ever backhoe –the Mini CX and will build on its success with improved performance in difficult ground conditions. The excavator has a maximum dig depth of 2.54m and vertical stabilisers to improve digging performance in difficult conditions. The loader end features a 0.25m³ bucket as standard, with the option of a parallel lift feature for use as a tool carrier.
Purpose-built for the public sector and grounds maintenance contractors, the JCB 8018 Gravemaster mini excavator is also on show. The Gravemaster can dig a standard six foot six grave from a single position – maximising efficiency and minimising damage to the surrounding turf. In addition, the new machine is smoother, quieter, easier to operate and more comfortable than competitive 1.5 tonne excavators.
The continued addition of new products to the range underlines the significant progress made by JCB Groundcare since the division was set up in 2004. In the UK, the products are sold through a dedicated network of 15 dealers covering the whole country through 60 depot locations. The range of products is also proving successful in Europe where JCB’s subsidiary companies in France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Belgium and Holland have established their own JCB Groundcare operations.
The JCB Groundcare dealer network is supported by the JCB Service organisation, providing the very best in parts and service back-up.
