Glenvale Kitchens are winners in National Industry Awards

Glenvale Kitchens, based in the small border town of Keady, have won a KBB Review Industry Award.
It was a design created by Darren Morgan, one of the Glenvale team, that secured Glenvale Kitchens the national recognition that they have long deserved and won Darren the prestigious title of “Designer Award for Kitchen Project cost up to £25k”, which is sponsored by Hotpoint.
The KBB Review awards are considered the Industry Oscars for anyone working within the kitchens and Bathrooms sector. The competition is open to interior designers, architects and independent kitchen and bathroom retailers from across the UK and Ireland and attracts the biggest names in the kitchen and bathroom industry. The competition was tougher than ever this year with a record number of entries.
For the first time in the 15-year history of the awards, all of the design category finalists travelled to the Royal Institute of British Architects in London so that they could present their design in person to a distinguished judging panel of industry experts. The judges commented on Darrens' winning design; “This kitchen represents such great value for money. It is very functional and Darren has come up with some good solutions to a challenging space. It is a technically excellent job and is very client specific. Given the space and the budget he has maximized everything fantastically.”
All the finalists attended the black tie award ceremony on 11th May2009 at the ExCeL in London and the winners were announced with the traditional opening of an envelope. Marcus Brigstocke, comedian and host for the evening, was on hand to present Darren with the accolade. Commenting on the win Darren said; "Every once in a while something special happens and winning the kbbreview awards is one of those times. Winning this award is the highlight of my career to date and it is also a real embellishment for the entire Glenvale team. I may have created the initial concept and design but it was the entire team that made the design a reality for the client."
Although established 15 years ago as Glenvale Design, the company refocused itself three years ago and was re-launched as Glenvale Kitchens. Since then they have not looked back and are now one of the leading kitchen design companies in Ireland. Aidan and Maureen McCooey , Proprietors of Glenvale Kitchens said; “We are all so proud of what we have achieved. I have believed for a long time that Glenvale Kitchens has one of the best design teams in the industry and we have finally been recognized. This is the first time that we have ever put ourselves forward for something like this and it’s great to come out on top”.
Glenvale Kitchens have 18 kitchens on display in their showrooms many of which are fully functional including several examples of their very own “Dynamically Different Range”. The “Dynamically Different Range” is a range of individually designed and commissioned kitchen furniture by Glenvale. Therefore, if you want something that no one else will have, the Dynamically Different Range might be for you.
Glenvale have also recently launched g-robes.com. g-robes.com represents a bold step into the world of smart, efficient, contemporary bedroom and living room storage solutions. The range is designed at their extensive studio in Keady, however it is heavily influenced by Italian designers. The range is so genuinely unique that many of the distinctive finishes have been commissioned for g-robes.com by a specialist facility in Italy.
