Compact high speed spindle motors up to 50000 RPM

20 May 2009

Asynchronous motor ranges designed to withstand high axial and transverse spindle stresses, run from single or 3 phase mains frequency inverters.

The motors with power ratings 0.65 to 18kW are available in three versions. Manual tool change, HT with keyed spindles and HM with collet tool holders, or the automatic tool change ES range. They are designed with a number of bearing, tool interfaces and cooling options and are capable of being driven by low cost variable frequency inverters, which enables the machine designer to choose the optimum motor system for the work a machine is to carry out. The Motors have been designed with, a labyrinth sealing arrangement to eliminate bearing damage from foreign particles. Also double angular contact thrust, single deep groove support and ceramic types of precision ABEC Grade 7, grease lubricated bearings, sealed for life, are combined in each range to ensure the suitability of the motor for the application. To provide long term reliability for the end user, the HT and HM ranges come with axial cooling fans mounted on the rear of the shaft, and with the option of additional cooling supplied by an electric fan, when operating at reduced speeds. The ES automatic tool change range is cooled with either liquid or compressed air. The characteristics of these motors make them particularly suitable for machining Wood, Plastic, Aluminium, Marble and Glass for use in jobs ranging from Grinding, Routing, Drilling to Sawing, Cutting and Boring.
