Improving patients’ comfort

Wardray Premise Ltd are always looking for ways to improve patients’ experiences in MRI and general imaging environments.
They are pleased that their range of products and solutions now include MR Safe Baby ear muff / defenders suitable for newborns up to age of 18 months. (MR128/P/BW and MR128/P/PW) as well as their established adult ear defenders (MR128).The adult ear defenders MR128 are suitable for an adult accompanying a patient having an MRI scan, or when staff need to reduce background noise.
The new baby ear muff / defenders are smaller, lightweight (115 grams / 4oz) and slim enough to be worn with a 32 channel headcoil. The baby ear muff / defenders have been tested in a 3T facility with no artefacts. In addition, the ear defenders meet European (EN352-1:2002) Safety Standards.
The new children’s ear defenders offer a Noise Reduction Ratio (NRR) of 22 dB and are classed as MR safe (in accordance with the ASTM standards). Customers can purchase packs of hygienic headset covers for use in between patients. The children’s headsets have a stretchy fabric washable / changeable head band for comfort and easy cleaning. The head bands are available to purchase separately.
