• Who are Shredhouse?Shredhouse has over twenty years’ expertise in the packaging market - we supply high quality, eco-friendly decorative and protective packaging for products, gifts, hampers and boxes.
• What problem does your business solve?
We help to show products and gifts at their best! Our products are really bright and decorative - helping to add that all important ‘wow’ factor to product packaging, enhancing the perceived value of the product. They’re also an attractive way to fill boxes to prevent products from breaking or moving around in transit.
As we use up to 100% recycled paper, our products offer an environmentally friendly packaging solution.
• What’s it like to work for Shredhouse?
It’s a lot of fun. As a growing business the whole team is excited about new product innovations and we’re really proud to be supporting our customers’ businesses by supplying high-quality packaging - helping make products look as good as possible. We love receiving feedback from our customers and are always discussing new ideas to help our product range get even better!
• How much has Covid-19 affected business?
We’ve been incredibly busy! We’ve been able to offer an unaltered service to our customers and have taken on new staff to accommodate an increase in online orders. We have also heavily invested in a new machine to run a fantastic new eco-friendly product line, NatureFlex.
• What are the latest trends in packaging and how are you adapting to them?
The pandemic has made some of the major trends accelerate and become even more important – along with the ongoing increased demand for packaging used for online orders there is a very noticeable increasing focus on consumer benefits, whether it’s to offer customers a feelgood moment or more of a focus on the reduced environmental impact of packaging.
As well as introducing our new eco-friendly product NatureFlex, which is derived from wood pulp and is compostable, we’re also considering lots of new colours to bolster our recycled paper range so that our customers can reflect their own personal taste, corporate and brand requirements whilst being environmentally responsible too.
• What drives you?
I’ll be honest, I find it hard to switch off! I am driven by the potential the Shredhouse product range has to make a real difference to the packaging choices small and large businesses make. Our growth and expansion into new product areas is really exciting!
• What is your company’s greatest strength?
The fact that we are based in the UK. We can react quickly to product requests and create tailor-made solutions swiftly without the import delays faced by other suppliers. Our custom-made machinery means we are also able to offer bespoke or blended product colours as required - for example to match corporate branding.
