Engaged Wait Enter - simple access control for one room
21 September 2009
Engaged Wait Enter systems are fundamentally traditional systems but Hoyles' EWE100 is feature enhanced for the modern world.
A growing number of rooms are provided for privacy, such as, hospital outpatient clinics with multiple examination rooms for people to discuss personal issues and pharmacists having rooms for people to discuss their medical requirements sometimes doubling up as emergency doctors rooms. The privacy of these rooms can often fail as people simply knock and enter, as waiting may be fruitless if the room is not occupied. On the other hand they may find themselves entering into a situation that with hindsight they would have chosen not to.
Hoyles Electronic Developments have created the EWE100 system that provides clear room status indication, including vacant if the room is available for others to use. It offers electrical door locking to enforce the privacy. This is released by the occupier, when they are ready therefore avoiding an awkward situation. It also releases if a personal attack input is seen.
A locked door is good for privacy, but not so good for staff safety. When the system is engaged, if one of your colleagues wishes to join you, there is a silent interruption feature. Originally created for police interview rooms, there is also a feature to call for a colleague from the EWE100.
