Affordable RFID systems using the latest technology in RFID Tags and RFID Readers.
This year sees DataScan Systems celebrating our 10th anniversary.
Since 1997, there has been a revolution as far as RFID is concerned, with technology moving forward at an ever-increasing rate. It is likely that RFID will form an increasing part of all our lives, from waste bin collections to tags on clothes bought in the high street.
DataScan have always been at the forefront of developments, and we make sure that we continue to drive the available technology and keep an eye on the future. But what we are most proud of is the fact that unlike many companies jumping on the RFID bandwagon, happy to 'talk the talk' as far as technology is concerned, we are true experts in real life applications.
During the past 10 years, DataScan have developed RFID systems for a wide range of industries, from Automotive and heavy industries to food & drink, pharmaceutical and packaging systems. We are one of the few companies that are truly agnostic as far as RFID frequency is concerned, offering solutions in Low Frequency (LF), High Frequency (HF) and Ultra High Frequency (UHF). We also look at whether active, (using in-built batteries), or passive technology is more suitable for a particular application.
DataScan are a long-term partner of EMS RFID systems (Part of the Datalogic Group) and we are delighted to be the no 1 supplier in Europe 2 years running. Industry is constantly demanding increasing advances in technology, and the recent rise in the use of PCs in the factory environment means that manufacturers constantly have to look at issues such as connectivity and ease of integration. In response to this, EMS have recently launched the Cobalt C series range, which offers fast and low cost solutions for both readers and tags.
The C series family offers the most complete connection of any available system, in Ethernet, Modbus TCP, Device Net and serial interfaces, including USB. The compatibility extends to the range of suitable tags, including EMS LRP & HMS, I-Code1, SLI, Fujitsu, Texas Tag it and Infineon. Using microprocessor architecture, the range allows for true plug & play hardware replacement and modular system expansion, thus reducing down time during maintenance.
Due to the increasing amount of data often required to be streamed via RFID systems, a simple application tool, (C macro) available for the C series range gives both integrators and end users the ability to handle RFID data at a local level, relieving the pressure on overloaded factory networks.
