Ice Machine makes pieces of eight

Manitowoc EC 40 machines' octagonal ice cubes make better drinks.

The latest Manitowoc EC 40 ice machine, which is now available in the UK from Classeq, creates crystal clear, octagonal ice cubes that melt slowly in the glass and enhance the appearance of cocktails and other drinks. The 19gm cubes have a low surface area and do not clump together thus chilling drinks more efficiently.

The Manitowoc EC 40 not only produces superior ice but is designed to fit into tight spaces behind the bar. Both the air intake and exhaust are at the front of the machine, so they can be installed in a tight 800mm x 550mm space and still give a production rate of up to 36kg of ice every 24 hours. The storage bin has an up-and-over cover mechanism, which provides good access to the ice without taking up any extra space.

The machines use a horizontal spray evaporator which is a very efficient and reliable method for individual ice cube formation. The ice cubes themselves are extremely pure as most impurities in the water fall away as the water freezes.

Internally, the stainless steel storage bin with a 25kg capacity, has rounded corners, making it easy to wipe clean and keep hygienic and the front has been moulded to look stylish to customers in front of house situations.

A version is also available dispensing a larger, 34gm cube.

The full Manitowoc EC 'octagonal' range features machines with production ranging from 18kg to 80kg daily.

Manitowoc ice machines are distributed in the UK by Classeq.
