MMVs' Access Control in a door handle

27 November 2009

Ideal for internal doors, Easyprox Compact Keypad is an all-in-one battery powered lock and access control system from MMV Contracting.

Not being wired into a mains power source, installing the Easyprox Compact Keypad is easy. The keypad may also be used with proximity tokens to allow token plus code or PIN.

Installation is straight forward using the template provided to fit the door latch. Cut the square drive to length and slide into the latch. Fit the battery and connect to the unit. The unit will start to beep. Enter your chosen six digit programming code, or if using token plus code or PIN then you will also need to present the enrolment card.

Fit the front and rear lock assembly to the door and secure the two parts of the lock together with the fixing screws. Close the door and mark the top and bottom of the latch where it touches the frame. Mark the correct position and fit the strike plate.

During operation, if using code or PIN simply enter the number and the door will unlock. If using token plus code or pin, press the power button to "wake up" the unit, present the token then enter the code or PIN. Easyprox compact keypad therefore provides an economical answer to doors once deemed ‘too insignificant or ‘too difficult’ to secure due to inaccessible power supplies.

The systems' understated appearance of brushed steel and black plastic makes it suitable for a wide variety of applications.

Adam Stroud, Sales and Marketing Director for Paxton Accesscommented;

“I think the Easyprox Compact Keypad is well suited to a number of different environments. For example in a retail outlet it’s a great way to prevent customers from entering ‘staff only’ areas and stockrooms. Additional applications could include classrooms, sports halls, cleaning cupboards and university halls of residence. In theory it’s even better value than its proximity forerunner because users don’t require tokens. I can’t think of a more convenient way of implementing internal access control. The system can be installed, and in use in under two hours.”
