Major Seamless Resin Flooring Installation Complete - Travel Centre

BIF have completed a major installation of our Epoxy Quartz resin at the New Halifax Bus Station.
The redevelopment project is the eight major installation we’ve completed on behalf of Willmott Dixon Construction Limited and provides a state-of-the-art travel facility in the heart of Halifax, West Yorkshire.We cast over 1000m2 of resin across the main concourse areas, providing access to a Travel Centre, Retail areas and 19 Level Access Travel Gates. Achieving level access points throughout the building required a complex floor layout, with changing levels and quite early in the design process, the design team identified that a seamless, slip resistant resin surface would provide the best solution. With a high number of floor penetrations, to accommodate Travel Information Screens and seating, there was also the added requirement to provide a set in, flush contrasting Way-Finding Line, designed to help guide commuters across the site. To ensure the best possible installation, we worked closely with the construction team, identifying, and agreeing solutions to ensure neat and consistent detailing across the building. Our involvement, so early in the construction phase, helped us to deliver a very high quality resin flooring installation.
To reduce construction time and to allow other trades to continue their work on site , we completed the project over 2 phases, with great co-operation from all parties, we were able to complete each section of the work defect free and on time.
The surface consistency and installation accuracy achieved by our team supports the strong aesthetics found across the building, making this one of the most attractive, comfortable and well designed public transport hubs in the UK.
