Recycled freezers enable tree planting in Cheshire
07 January 2010
Total Refrigeration the UKs' leading branded ice cream freezer supplier, has a relationship with the Woodland Trust, where a tree is planted for every freezer the company recycles.
Over 8,300 trees have been planted to date as part of Total Refrigerations' commitment to the Woodland Trust. A small team from the office help to plant trees each year. This was Totals' third year and it was time to help at the Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre & Countryside Park.Set in 50 acres in the heart of the beautiful Cheshire countryside, Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre & Countryside Park is the home of the internationally renowned Cotebrook Shire Horse Stud which has been breeding prize winning Shires for over 35 years and they form the centrepiece of the Centre.
As well as Shire horses there is also a fantastic selection of British animals & birdlife, both wild & domesticated, including Shetland Ponies, Large Black Pigs, Aberdeen Angus Cattle, Birds of prey, Red Deer, Red Foxes, Red Squirrels, Polecats and Otters.
The Centre had a field that they wanted to turn into a forest and so approached the Woodland Trust for a tree donation. The Woodland Trust supplied them with 1,500 trees of a number of varieties and the team from Total Refrigeration turned up to help plant some of them.
Alistair King of the Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre said;
"This is fantastic for us to get these trees and help planting them is more than we thought we would get. We are very thankful to both the Woodland Trust and Total Refrigeration for their help with this. We are going to put up a plaque in this field thanking them for their kind help."
