Scrubber Dryer 5 Easy Maintenance Steps | Maintaining your Scrubber Dryer is essential to ensure longevity, optimal performance & functionality.

Obtaining a regular service from a professional is advised, this may be using your machines manufacturer or a qualified service & repair specialist.
But there are some simple maintenance actions which the user can perform to keep the Scrubber Dryer machine working to a high standard in-between servicing.

Here is a guide to extend your machine’s lifespan in a few simple steps. We have based our guide on the Victor Scrubber Dryer range, but these points can also be applied to a variety of Scrubber Dryers. So, let us get started!

1. Start by emptying the dirty water tank, this is where the used water machine sits after being sucked in

Locate the Dump Hose

The dump hose is typically at the machine’s rear, near the bottom. Look for a hose attached to a bracket.

Remove and Empty
  • Take the hose off the bracket.
  • Open the stopper at the hose end to empty the dirty water tank completely. Make sure the hose is situated over a bucket or area of disposal. You’ll want to avoid spilling dirty water on your freshly cleaned floor!
Clean the Tank
  • Empty the water from the machine, located on the underside of the machine. After emptying, clean the inside of the tank thoroughly.
  • Remove any debris or residue to prevent clogs.
2. Clean the Air Filter

Access the Air Filter
• The air filter is usually located near the tank.
• Find it and remove it for cleaning.

Rinse Under Tap
• Rinse the filter under a tap to remove dirt and dust.
• Ensure it is free from any blockages.

Reattach Securely
• Reattach the filter securely to maintain proper airflow.

 It’s important to ensure you clean the air filter, as this ensures optimal airflow, preventing clogs and maintaining the machines performance.

 3. Empty the Clean Water Tank
 
  • Press and Hold (may vary depending on your machine)
  • Press and hold the water control button.
  • Wait for the flashing lights, indicating that the water release solenoid valve is active.

Dispose of Water
Empty the clean water tank at your designated disposal point. This is located at the underside of the machine; the location will vary depending on the machine.
Even though the water is clean, it’s important to keep empty. Regularly emptying the tank prevents stagnant water from accumulating, reducing the risk of bacterial growth and unpleasant odours.
 
Splash Foam
Check the splash foam in the reservoir for the clean water tank is free from any debris. Regularly cleaning the splash foam ensures optimal cleaning results and prevents build-up that could affect the machines functionality.

4. Brush Maintenance

Tilt the Machine
• Tilt the machine back to access the brushes.

Inspect Brushes
  • To release the brushes on a Victor machine, you should squeeze and twist the brushes.
  • Ensure there are no small stones or debris stuck between the brushes.
  • Clear any obstructions to maintain smooth movement.
  • Cleaning the brushes on your Scrubber Dryer is essential for maintaining effective cleaning performance and prolonging the machine’s lifespan and the brushes will last longer. Worn or dirty brushes may leave streaks or miss spots.
Reattach Brushes
• Align the centre of the brush with the pulley underneath to reattach them securely. They should fit securely in a one-click motion.

5. Squeegee Care
 
Slide Squeegee
  • Slide the squeegee across to one side.• Release the wing nut and repeat on the other side.
  • Clean the suction bar thoroughly.
  • Pay attention to the edges of the squeegee blade, removing any build-up.
  • Rotate Blade
  • When the squeegee blade wears down on one side, rotate it to a fresh side, make sure you do this before you purchase a new one.
  • Ensuring the Squeegee blade is kept fresh with maintain effective water pickup.
