COMMEND ENSURES ITS GE 800 IP SERVER IS SEEN AND HEARD
05 May 2010
Commend UK, the Integrated Intercom solutions provider, has launched the GE800 – a new generation of IP Intercom server with 16kHz voice, video and control capabilities that is easy to set up and expand, and readily compatible with new and legacy systems
The launch of the company’s Intercom 2.0 generation and Commend’s own Intercom over IP (IoIP®) technology has driven the need for servers with greater capacity and functionality, according to Greg Gregoriou, Managing Director of Commend UK: “The IP and digital bus concept combined with the huge power reserves of the DSP Processors (400MIPS) makes it fully prepared for the applications of the future.” The new GE 800 IP Intercom Server is designed to flexibly adapt to a customer’s specific project requirements, and is compatible with all Commend IP, digital and analogue stations since 1980. It enables the transmission of 16kHz speech communication, emergency calls and public address announcements in total clarity. Innovations with the new technology include an Audio Monitoring Feature that automatically initiates a call – for example when somebody screams for help – and an integrated speech recording function that stores pre-event audio that can be played back to establish the reasons and circumstances leading up to the call, so that the appropriate measures can be taken. Subscriber cards are also included with built-in speech storage. This allows individual messages (waiting information, alarm messages etc) to be stored and played back anywhere across the whole system, at any time, as required. Set up is easy, and the system can be expanded exponentially for thousands of users. The GE 800 is designed to be energy efficient, in keeping with the company’s ‘Green’ credentials. Greg says that the new Server is already receiving plaudits from within theindustry: “We believe that the new GE 800 is genuinely groundbreaking,” he concludes, “and we are very pleased that it has recently been shortlisted as Product Innovation of the Year for the PSI Premier AwardsOther Press Releases By This Company
