Hamamatsu Photonics Linear CMOS Image Sensor with APS Technology
21 July 2010
Hamamatsu Photonics introduce the S11108 CMOS linear image sensor with APS (Active Pixel Sensor) technology.
The latest APS technology allows the S11108 to achieve a combination of a very high sensitivity, at 50 V/(lx•s) together with a high speed video data rate of 10 MHz. This is accomplished by simultaneously integrating charge for all pixels and allows the S11108 to offer comparable sensitivity to high performance linear CCD sensors. The S11108 features a long detector active area of 28.67 mm, consisting of 2048 individual pixels, each measuring 14µm by 14µm. The S11108 also features an electronic shutter function, and a built-in timing generator allowing operation with only start and clock pulse inputs, so the sensor has very simple operation only requiring a single 5V power supply to run. The S11108 is an ideal solution for various high precision and high speed sensing applications, including in-line inspection, position detection, encoders, image reading, barcode readers, alignment systems, optical scanners, colour measurement, medical diagnostics, visible spectrometers and many more.Released By
