Now is the time to plan an Open Evening
26 January 2011
With Valentine's day looming your next big event is Mother's Day so it's perfect to plan an open evening to get customers in to sample treatments and offer vouchers for the day.
It will be the perfect way to put a spring in to your step and give your business a boost.Planning a date
Firstly you must look at dates and times that are both convenient to both yourself and your client database. It is best not to plan near public holidays and school holidays as many people have other commitments around these times.
Budget
You will now need to look at how much is viable for you to spend on the event. Take into account what your clients will be expecting and what will set the right impression. Cava or Preseco is far more affordable than champagne or a good Pinot Grigio or Rose. For food either nibbles and sandwiches or canapés (cold canapés cause less hassle and food smells).
Invites
Make sure all contact information is included dates, times and what will be expected on the evening also include a rsvp date so you no what numbers to cater for.
Incentive to attend
It is a good idea to offer a incentive to attend the event in either promotions or discounts and goody bags (contact your suppliers and they maybe able to supply you with small sample and literature) you may also be able to arrange discounts at a local dress shop and supply the owner with a treatment or discounts for their clientele.
Pr
This is the biggy - Let everyone know what you are up to.
Contact local magazines and newspapers to see if they will cover the event and offer them discounts in which to do so.
Share with friends on Facebook and twitter - ask your contacts to pass on the information, give a prize to the person who refers the most friends to attend - they have to come themselves though to get the prize.
Put leaflets/posters in local shops and businesses
Involve a local charity, they may post the event for you and donate a percentage from the evening - customers are more likely to spend if they know you are supporting a local cause.
Remember when the client comes in to spend their voucher, do a full consultation and make sure you let them know all about the treatments you offer. Sell up and rebook them in your diary.
