Sapphire’s balustrade enhances prestigious art foundation premises
20 April 2011
Sapphire Balustrades recently installed its premium range of balustrade and handrails at the offices of The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, a cultural and educational charitable trust.
The prestigious art foundation moved to Hoxton Square in London’s East End and Architects Theis and Khan designed a contemporary, exciting space for the foundation’s collection of Portuguese and British art.The building has a glass front, making the exhibition space clearly visible from the street. Sapphire’s Crystal structural glass balustrade with Onyx stainless steel handrails were applied to the stairs and laminated glass (which avoids the need for a handrail) was used for the atrium balustrade. Sapphire was able to provide a safe and stylish solution that matches the overall design of the building.
