Mailbox, push trucks in the right direction
05 July 2011
The UK’s retail chains are constantly looking for ways to improve their image and update their many stores.
An area of concern is control and waste management of cardboard and secondary packaging from retail areas. Methods currently used, which include roll cages and metal roll cages are unsightly and difficult to handle. Mailbox: a division of Stamford Products Limited understand these demands and have used their design and manufacturing capabilities to offer a suitable solution.Designing often necessitates considering the aesthetic, functional, and economic dimensions of both the design object and design process. It may involve considerable research, thought and re design. Following this ethos, Mailbox carried out substantial research to ascertain the retail markets precise needs, discussing possible solutions. The ideal solution involved Mailbox manufacturing a plastic moulded truck fitted with a newly designed aesthetic but functional moulded plastic handle. These ergonomically designed handles raised the truck height taking the strain out of pushing and improved the overall truck manoeuvrability.
Mr. Gero Liotti, National Sales and Product Manager, Stamford Products Limited reported that the trucks would offer retailers the perfect solution, “being both practical and aesthetically pleasing to customers.”
Both the truck and handle are made from food grade MDPE (medium density polyethylene), they are resistant to most acids and chemicals and have an exceptional tolerance to temperature change. Aimed specifically, but not solely, for use in food manufacturing and food production environments their wide range of colours make them ideal for product identification or allergen separation. Their smooth internal and external surfaces make cleaning quick and easy.
Bakeries, food processing plants, hospitals, schools and many more industries, find them ideal for fulfilling their many individual and varied requirements. The handle can also be retro fitted to give customers the flexibility to add to their existing stock of trucks.
Mailbox’s truck capacities range from 135 litres to 450 litres. Lids are available for all 5 sizes, further reducing the possibility of contaminants reaching the contents. When not in use the trucks can be nested saving valuable floor and production space.
