Dales sustaining growth
13 February 2008
Dales Aluminium Building Products announce their sales for 2007 signified a continuation of the growth seen in recent years.
The company’s success has been due to increased productivity and sustained investment as well as significant inroads into the educational sectors BSF initiatives.
Designers and contractors have been attracted to the integrated approach Dales specialise in where the all important eaves line, including guttering, is designed and manufactured to fix to the building after roof and walling are complete thus saving expensive steel support material and allowing very accurate line and level. Recently BSF projects have been completed where very positive feedback has been given to the company regarding the entire process.
Not being a firm to let the grass grow under their feet Dales say they intend to significantly expand their Solar Shading division with demand increasing since the emergence of Part L2 in the Building Regulations where the construction industry has had to take into account solar gain on all commercial buildings. Dales see the distinct benefits of externally mounted shielding casting its shadow using re-cyclable and sustainable aluminium and reducing the need for such things as air conditioning that obviously are not satisfactory environmentally. Other methods often combine higher maintenance materials that may consume energy as well as well as cause disruption and additional cost over time.
Another distinct benefit, the company says, is where their eaves systems and brise soliel combine on the same building where designers have only one source to deal with and enable two packages to be resolved in one place. The solar shading is quite often integrated with the eaves system allowing design issues such as support to be one stop.
Furthermore the contractors can gain benefits of continuity and cost by sourcing material from Dales and, in many instances, packaging the installation with one of Dales preferred installers.
