Founded in 1951 in the United Kingdom, Wescol® is a privately owned manufacturer of gas control products for use in industrial, technical and medical applications. From our ISO 9001 approved facilities in Europe and Asia, we are well placed to provide technical support for our growing international customer base.
Wescol® equipment has been the work horse of industrial gas control applications for over 60 years; they have been installed on North Sea oil rigs, in Arabian oil and gas fields, on Siberian railways, in African mines, Asian shipyards, American construction sites, European automotive plants and your local welding fabricator’s workshop.
Since the company’s inception, we have manufactured products under both the Wescol® brand and for OEMs and currently export production to around 40 countries worldwide. Wescol is one of the few in the industry that manufactures its entire product range and has achieved several firsts in the industry; we are the first manufacturer to achieve approvals to ISO 2503 at 300 bars for our regulators and EN 730 for our flashback arrestors. Our facilities allow us to provide cost effective manufacturing of volume product with the flexibility to react to customer demand in lower volumes as the need arises, whilst being local to both geographies.
Technology
We employ a variety of technology in the group, encompassing CNC machining equipment, with CAD-CAM capability through to presses purchased in 1951. Our focus is on using appropriate technology. In addition to updating our processes and machinery on an on-going basis, we plan to continue enhancing our own expertise with production technology related to new materials. In addition, we now maintain our own automation team to design and build bespoke production, assembly and testing equipment so we can continue to provide the same reliable products in increasing volumes at the same level of consistency.
Customer Base
Our customer base is varied, from big organisations, to regional and national wholesalers and distributors, down to smaller customers to whom we provide bespoke manufacturing solutions. In addition to manufacturing under private labels, we maintain a network of international distribution agents, many of whom are also family-run businesses and have represented Wescol® in their territories for more than 35 years.
We also manufacture products that whilst used with industrial gases, are supplied into non-cutting and welding industries.
