The joy of automation control systems is that they give the user freedom to access information and control machinery remotely. Well now it is possible to do this from a mobile phone thanks to Opto 22’s Opto aPAC.

The Android-based app gives authorized automation professionals access to real-time control system access and information. This would allow control engineers, maintenance personnel, instrumentation technicians and panel builders to view, debug and fine-tune SNAP PAC controllers and I/O systems.

The benefits are both monetary and time saving, not to mention the convenience of being able to do this from a mobile device.

Putting Control in Users Hands

It is the first app of its kind that doesn’t require configuration and provides information about temperatures, pressures, machine status, voltage, and PIDs.

This means that users with the relevant Android software will be able to access and deal with automation and control systems wherever they are. It is putting the management of such systems firmly in the hands of managers allowing them to run things more efficiently.
