Safety First and Second with Vulcascot Cable Protectors
The name Vulcascot has been synonymous with safety since their first three rubber cable protectors were launched in the United Kingdom over 40 years ago.
The range has now grown to over 45 products but still the Northampton based team continues to search for improvements.A major initiative which was completely successful, concentrated on removing any remaining toxic additives such as potentially deadly Halogens
When a cable protector made from P.V.C burns, the smoke emissions contain chlorine, itself a halogen. Burning PVC also produces upwards of 75 by-products containing other carcinogens such as vinyl chloride.
Greenpeace has advocated for many years the global phasing out of PVC in favour of materials that are more environmentally friendly. Some Governments and industries have already taken action. Our own Ministry of Defence has removed all flooring materials from Royal Navy ships containing PVC.
Vulcascot cable protectors are recognised as important environmental safety accessories. The material composition continues to reflect this along with other design features. In the event of a Vulcascot Cable Protector having contact with fire, such smoke emissions are low and are completely free of all halogens.
Where the threat of fire is completely unthinkable, the Metro range has been tested to the London Underground (Metro) standard E1042:44 which is the most rigorous of all fire tests.
Safety then is the first and second priority for Vulcascot Cable Protectors. From the smallest indoor profile housing telephone or fibre optic cables or the monster Industrial sections all provide additional levels of safety way above the integrity of their original conception
