The 2013 Integral Cyclearoundabit Challenge...
An 8 strong team from Burtonwood Generator & Switchgear Services joined 100 riders from major customer Integral; some of its key suppliers and customers in a sponsored bike ride following a circular route from Integral''s Bristol office.
The one-day event held on 8th June 2013 involved a choice of two routes riding either a total of 100 or a slightly easier 30 miles. The 100-mile route (via Slimbridge and Symonds Yat through the Forest of Dean to Tintern Abbey then back across the Severn Bridge) followed miles of country lanes, canal tow paths and quiet roads along an undulating route split into five stages to allow the teams of riders to participate in as much or as little as they could over the total 100 mile distance. The 30 mile route also provided an option for the less athletic to participate.
Taking part again, and leading from the front, Managing Director Keith Littler said," We enjoyed the event so much last year that we had to get involved again this year. We managed to get 5 out of our 8 riders to complete the whole distance. A significant achievement both for the individuals and the team!"
"We are raising funds, as we did last year, for St Rocco''s Hospice at Warrington, our chosen charity, and hoping to break our target again."
To reward the Burtonwood team for their efforts on their ride, donations can be made through the Head Office at St Helens or via the JustGiving page at http://www.justgiving.com/teams/BGSScycle2013
