Workshops wared to check who collects their waste oil

An oil recycling company is warning workshops to make sure their waste oil is being managed and collected in compliance with current legislation or risk big fines.

According to workshop waste specialists OSS Group “We have been advised by some customers that their waste oil has been collected by an unknown individual pretending to be an OSS Group collection driver.

“We are therefore urging all customers to make sure that it really is an OSS truck and an OSS driver. Also we don’t use any third party collectors.

“Such non-contractual collections could be made by unlicensed collectors who may not be legally compliant. This could, in turn, cause problems for our customers who could face prosecution and large fines for no fault of their own.”

OSS Group says that their trucks are easily recognisable but if there is any doubt, workshops should contact OSS Customer Services on 0870 2401 055.
