Quality − the driving force behind every process
Habia Cable´s quality objectives, simplify are to do the right things in the right way. Every part of the process is important and every employee knows the importance of his or her role.
Ever since the mid 1990s, Habia Cable has been certified according to the international quality standard ISO 9001. Quality is always high on the agenda within the company and is our most important competitive advantage winning customers. Consequently the company is living up to high demands from customers, certification organizations and its own requirements and there is a dedicated quality department − the QA & Lean Development. Five people work in the department monitoring new regulations and ensuring that they are implemented, answering customer questions, providing support to other departments in the company, coordinating and implementing quality investigations, performing internal audits and much more. The units outside Sweden have their own quality controllers who are responsible for the same procedures being followed throughout the company worldwide.Increasing demands from customers
Customers'' knowledge and requirements concerning both product quality and corporate responsibility throughout the entire chain is continuously increasing. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) issues are becoming more frequent with demands being made in relation to everything from environmental concerns to staff employment conditions. These controls are also extending further and further back in the workflow, and it is common for customers to require that our subcontractors must live up to the same standards as us.
“QA & Lean Development''s responsibility, together with the rest of the organization, is to ensure that we can comply with the customer''s requirements and also those of the standards for which we are certified, in the best way possible. We interpret these requirements and then ensure that our organization find the best ways to implement the necessary changes in our operations. Subsequently, we make sure that the final result is in accordance with our expectations”, says Sara Magnusson, Director QA & Lean Development.
Continuous improvements
A cable solution from Habia Cable is distinguished by its superior quality. Even the most advanced cable shall always keep its promises. If situations arise where products do not reach the standard, an investigation is immediately carried out and reports are sent back down the line. How did the error occur and what was its consequence? Have the customer''s requirements been misunderstood? How do we correct the error and provide feedback? It is important that the entire chain is investigated in order to understand the problem and take the right actions.
“Our customer should always feel confident that we are taking the matter very seriously. Any deviations are reported, followed up on and reported back to the customer. The customers´ confidence is something we take very seriously, and we do what we can, at all times, to become an even better cable producer, says Sara Magnusson.
Every employee has a responsibility
An important key to success in working with quality is that every employee understands the importance of their own role in the process. Individually planned internal training has an important role to play in this. Every new employee completes an introduction program in which Habia Cable''s core values are becoming an increasingly important part. This includes quality and how every single individual, has an impact on product quality in their own roles
