Coping with that annoying power cut
In today''s technology-dependent world, power is no longer a luxury but a necessity.
Power cuts and outages can be expensive occurrences especially when businesses rely on the ability to make transactions via data centres, over the internet or in the ‘cloud’. Seconds of power shortage can cost thousands of pounds.Burtonwood Generator & Switchgear Services Ltd has been working with clients across a wide variety of industries to provide planned maintenance programmes designed to prevent power loss and ensure that standby power is readily available.
The company also has the expertise to meet all HV & LV diesel generator and switchgear requirements including the procurement and installation of new diesel generator sets, critical switchgear components or manufacturer recommended spare parts.
The safety and reliability of electrical switchgear equipment installed in public buildings throughout the UK is often overlooked with circuit breakers, for instance, providing the backbone of power distribution infrastructure.
Burtonwood Generator & Switchgear Services (BGSS) have wide experience of dealing with this type of switchgear equipment and recognised the vital role that reliable circuit breakers can play in maintaining continuous power supply.
The company is pleased to announce at the Facilities Show taking place at the Excel, London 17-19th June 2014, a new working partnership with US-based ETC Technologies, best known as the leading manufacturer of replacement digital solid state trip units designed to extend the life of power circuit breakers. BGSS will act as a master distributor and certified installer for ETC for its Satin American etc-12 Q series trip units.
The Satin American trip unit is a direct replacement for the Merlin Gerin STR trip unit found in many circuit breakers installed in buildings throughout the UK. As these units age operators can experience sporadic breaker trips resulting in costly down time when a site is least expecting it.
By installing a Satin American etc-12 Q series trip unit, as a direct replacement for the existing equipment, the operator can achieve a cost effective solution to its power outages in a timely manner and with the minimum of disruption to business. The etc-12 Q series trip unit can be fitted quickly and uses the same plug type and format as the original equipment making it a very economical and certainly cheaper alternative to replacing the whole breaker.
Keith Littler, Managing Director of Burtonwood Generator & Switchgear Services said, “BGSS is looking forward to working closely with ETC Technologies to develop the working relationship and help provide an added value service to both our existing and future customers alike.”
“This is an exciting addition to our range of services and one that can quickly save our customers money,” he added.
